UC Santa Cruz Kresge Hall Renovation

Truebeck and EHDD have partnered with M3C for the design-assist of Kresge Hall for the UC Santa Cruz Campus Student Housing renovation project. This project consists of 164K SF of renovation and new construction. To expedite the build schedule, Mark III utilized modeling and BIM coordination to optimize prefabrication and modular construction. Mark III will be providing 11k linear feet of wall panels equipped with all MEP and structural steel, as well as 223 fully-finished volumetric restroom and shower pods.

M3’s virtual construction team worked with the GC, trade partners, and designers to integrate multiple BIM files, perform clash detection, consolidate, and design the project for manufacture so that the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire systems could be consolidated into a multi-trade prefabricated rack assembly, thereby reducing field labor and trade stacking in an already tight work space, and reducing the installation schedule by 50%.
